You have been a truly sound and supportive Head of School, and an utterly reliable, unflappable and wise colleague. What Sarah said on Wednesday was spot-on; I can merely add that I've felt the School to be a sunny and optimistic, though none the less realistic, place since you arrived. The swiftness of your responses, and the good humour, inclusiveness and effectiveness of your meeting-chairing have been exemplary. You have outstanding emotional and interpersonal senses. Guildford is very lucky to have you and I'm sure it'll thrive even more. Things might have moved on a bit since Turner depicted a fair there, with the famous Richardson's Penny Theatre, as depicted also by Dickens.
