The continents move very slowly by plates called continental plates. Continental plates are like a conveyor belt when luggage is being carried but the continents move at different speeds and sometimes collide. The continents have bean moving for 4 billion years. Some continents' bedrock sinks below the beach and makes a visible curve under ground.
