Roads were very useful to the Roman community, it helped them get to towns and cities more easier, and the Roman legions moved more quickly around the empire. The Romans used many layers of masonry and concrete to build these roads. They also built humps in the roads so water can flow to the edges. This kept the roads from flooding and allowed them to be used in rainy weather. These roads are still used to this day.(https://www.britannica.com/topic/triumphal-arch)
