Then, the third pros of taxing junk food is that it can reduce the risk of huge medical expenditure of both the government and citizens. As the costs of obesity are the high risk of health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. Those diseases are too pricey due to the immense cost of medical payment. However, if taxation on junk food is implemented, those medical costs could be avoided. Therefore, junk food tax can improve the public health. The medical cost for health care issues will be lowered. Thus, the government can spend more money on other urgent and imminent programme.

The third reason is that the company of the junk food will be affected by the taxation policy. Since more people would choose other healthy food than the junk food as they do not want to pay the extra cost, the junk food products will be sold less due to the decline in sales, the profit of the junk food companies will be seriously affected. For example, McDonald is one of the large junk food chain companies. If people stop buying meals from McDonald, it will cause an economic downturn to the company or even a threat of closure.

The advantage of imposing tax on junk food is the benefit of increasing the government income. The tax will return to the government's pockets. Therefore, the government can use this money to subsidize the local healthy food companies to produce cheaper healthy food. When the price of junk food is higher than that of healthy food, people will choose healthy food instead of junk food. As the result, people will eat less junk food and have less health risk if junk food was taxed.

Thirdly, citizens will have to pay a high price to buy junk food, which is given them less choice on consumption. Human tastes cannot be controlled. Our brains will sometimes tell us what they demand, which can be out of nowhere and no reasons to explain about this. We may need to consume junk food for satisfaction in many circumstances such as in need of sugar and fat. Being preferred, many citizens likes junk food than healthy food. Therefore, we could not stay away strictly from the delicious but unhealthy food. That is to say, citizens need to bear high cost to buy junk food. It will raise their financial burden. As a result, taxing on junk food is not a feasible policy.
