The environmental movement which happend during the 1960s and 1970s, is a general global effort that try’s to focus on the urgent issues of global warming and natural living. Even though it originally started in the early 1900s, with people like John Muir being the voice of the movement for protected natural areas, it became more public when Rachel Carson came out with her book that was named “Silent Spring” in 1962. This book talked about the dangers of pesticides and their impact on ecosystems which scared people into paying more attention to the earth. The movement's main objective was to save all the natural resources they could, reduce pollution, and stop climate change. It promotes practices that prioritize the health of the planet as well as human progress to make sure there’s more reduction of waste and responsible consumption in the world. Some key issues it addresses are deforestation, habitats being broken, species extinction, air and water pollution, and greenhouse gas being polluted. The environmental movement made a lot of positive changes such as the establishment of environmental protection laws, global climate agreements, and a shift toward eco-friendly technologies. Despite all the hard battles they had to face, it continues to bring action and raise public awareness about how dangerous global warming could be to humanity and affect everyone individually.
