The 3 types of protein databases:
1. Primary database: experimentally data such as nucleotide sequences, protein sequences and macromolecular structure. This is where the database submitted directly by researcher with accession number that are never change. Example: PDB, ENA, GenBank....
2. Secondary database: derived from primary databases. Contains conserved sequences, alpha-helix and beta-sheet structure, active site and residues etc... Example: Uniprot, InterProt.....
The classification of proteins structure are based on CATH
3. tertiary database: tertiary structure of proteins complex binding of side chains.
