There have been social injustices beyond belief, discrimination, and outright hatred for one another. Examples of this, as shown in my presentation, are taking the land from Native Americans, forcing African Americans into slave labor for 245 years, and the internment of Japanese Americans later on in the 1900's. America has continued to make faults, but the peoples efforts to change and continue to work towards equal rights has always persevered.  Through our far-from-perfect history, we have made tremendous progress and have accomplished great things. What’s illustrated in this padlet are some of the dreadful things America has endured, but also, has recovered from, i.e. The Great Depression. We’ve established the Constitution of the United States to try to ensure the “Blessings of Liberty”. In the past we have had strong public figures like Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks to lead the Montgomery Bus Boycott helping to end segregation. We also have campaigns today that help us keep the justice, for example, feminist movements to fight for equality for both sexes, the Black Lives Matter Campaign to call attention to racism, marriage equality that allows gay people to marry, The No Hate Campaign to reduce the levels of acceptance of hate speech, The Human Rights Campaign, and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act that allows freedom of religion . America needs to continue to stand up for our rights because that's what makes us America.
