All students must value dialogue with one another and want to hear others input. This is where the teacher comes in to be the facilitator. If we want students to value each others dialogue we can not allow them to over value the teachers. By having the teacher as a just the facilitator to important conversations, the students no longer assume that "important information" only comes from the teacher. They will begin to value others words equally and be more open to share as they realize that their ideas are important too.

The teacher can start out with simple topics that students find interesting just to practice respectfulness, and meaningful conversations. By starting out with simple, fun, conversations, it will be easy to practice for more meaningful conversations. The teacher should also work to facilitate these conversations by asking students to further elaborate, or bring in personal experiences. After using these practice rounds, the class can move into more serious topics and educational topics. When more difficult topics arise, the teacher can use the opportunity to model an ally.

For example, after practicing the restorative circle, the teacher can move onto more meaningful conversations while utilizing the circle. Then use this change to promote allies, respect, and understanding. Furthermore, this can be used to dispute arguments or wrong doings between students.
