Metternich believed in conservatism which means he wanted everything to go back to how it was before. Before Napoleon, before the French revolution, before the enlightenment. He wanted an absolute monarch to be ruler. Napoleon had such a large impact on Europe that English propaganda is still relevant today about how he is very short, yet he was average height for his time period. Europe and South America were changed so much during the 1700-1800s, people started thinking differently; in a way that allowed them to see how badly they were being treated and other revolutions showed them that they could make change happen if they wanted it.
