As far as her other interests, she knew from the start that she wanted to teach young kids. Despite this, Sophie observed how her parents were helping others and decided to try out nursing. When she realized that she would have to spend more time in school being a nurse, she decided that going back to teaching was the best option. She decided to settle down in a more tropical place than her hometown of Erie, but nevertheless, she still keeps up with her interests. In fact, she even volunteers with a local youth group to teach them about music. She lives with her two children and her husband, John.
