What is the importance of photosynthesis?

The importance of photosynthesis is that plants are at the very beginning of the food chain so if the plants cannot get nutrients the food chain gets messed up. Photosynthesis is the process of providing sugar and oxygen plants to provide for us. Humans and animals are dependent on oxygen and plants provide us with that. So if the process stopped occurring due to a change in something, we would have to reduce our oxygen uses and generate more because photosynthesis produces 90% of the worlds oxygen. Plants also control CO2 levels in the atmosphere. An increase of CO2 will lead to headaches, insomnia, and nausea. CO2 would also make our air dirty and unsafe to breathe from, so we would be having to use oxygen tanks.

Photosynthesis is the process in which radiant energy is used to turn water and carbon dioxide into chemical energy known as glucose. Not all light is transferred from the sun to earth but the radiant energy that is provides light for plants to survive and go through the process of photosynthesis.
The process starts with the CO 2 and H2O entering the plant then the light hits the plant and splits them apart. Then it is converted to oxygen and sugar glucose.

The reactants in photosynthesis are quite simple, it starts off with carbon dioxide and water. The carbon dioxide or CO2 is has a regular function of splitting the water once it has gotten into the plant. The water is there to provide nutrients for the plant to be able to grow. Sunlight helps out in photosynthesis by turning the 6 CO2 and 6 H2O into C6 H12 O6 and 6 O2.

6 CO2 + 6 H2O -light- C6 H12 O6 + 6 O2.
This formula shows us the process of photosynthesis. When you add 6 atoms or CO2 to 6 atoms of H20 you put sunlight in, you get C6 H12 O6 and 6 O2. That means if you add 6 carbon dioxide atoms to 6 water atoms and mix sunlight in you will get glucose and oxygen. Overall, photosynthesis uses light energy to convert carbon dioxide into a carbohydrate.

Trees and plants also reduce the amount of storm runoff, which reduces pollution in our waterways. Many species of animals also depend on trees for habitat and all plants and animals need oxygen to survive. Plants absorb carbon dioxide which helps us keep our pollution lower which helps in many other aspects in life. The tree is also providing oxygen for us to continue having air to breat!!!
