a) The public had fun, especially the kids, digging up the ancient "fossils". It has also good linking and the story of Mary Annings can be told while they dig/sketch the fossil on paper!

b) Some kids would just skip/give up the Pangea puzzle quickly to get to the "fossil digging". Also it takes a bit of time to "rebury" the fossils for the next tourist. Three fossil variants are sufficient though!

c) Perhaps a more story based approach, something that could link the Pangea puzzle + fossil digging into a more cohesive storytelling experience. Though that's a minor suggestion. I also think sticking to graphite/regular pencils for the sketching of the fossil on paper is better, rather than introduction of colour pencils which can sometimes clash with the colours/contrast of the coloured paper used.

Seemingly least popular station ???

Most abt 70% did go over to read the books displayed when I recommended that after the sharing.

This activity can be revamped n continued in future DCHs :) and/or expanded to include males trailblazers in STEM fields (my original vision)

2)

Some guests didn't know what the terms on the cards meant (Kevlar, DNA etc), so facil had to keep explaining

Most guests didn't want to read out the cards when matching. Had to make ref to rule board to force them.

Hard to assess their learning after game, mainly had fun n not sure if them rmb

Some characteristic words used at the back of character cards were too hard to understand for young guests.

Young guests had little patience for the story part, n wanted to attack the props. For them to be curious n read the books displayed themselves.

Overall was very eye=opening for the visitors and enjoyable at the same time.

b) because the memory game and the stories were not very close together in the setup, many guests did not get to experience either the memory game or the storytelling side.

c) Can make it more seamless for the guests next time so the activity goes better for the guests and they will have the full experience.
