The temperate forest biome has many types of wildlife such as Broad winged hawks, porcupines, red foxes and deer. Red foxes ave adapted this environment by having the ability to pick up low frequencies pulses and catch the rodents and other small prey in their environment. Porcupines have 30,000 quills across their body to protect them from predators and if something is to kill a porcupines it probably won't eat it as it would be extremely difficult.

An example of Parasitism in this environment is the parasitoid wasp which spends the first part of its life inside of a Caterpillar. An example of commensalism in a temperate forest are vast but a common example is squirrels storing their nuts in trees as it does not harm the tree but benefits the squirrel. A prime example of mutualism in a temperate forest is bees pollinating the flowers. The flowers benefit from this as they can bloom due to pollination and the bees benefit from this as they can use the pollen and nectar from the flowers to feed the colony.

Temperate Forests are located in both the northern and southern hemisphere, in countries such as China, South Africa, Chile, and the Andes Mountains. They are typically found in subtropical moist climates, as there is a lot of precipitation in the regions. These climates that suit temperate forests are common in South America, North America, and Asia.

One of temperate forests most dominant plants are deciduous trees, which lose their leaves each year, and then grow them back. In the summer their broad green leaves capture sunlight and help the trees make food through photosynthesis. Flowers and ferns, grow early in the spring with long, quick-growing leaves. This allows the plant to absorb as much sunlight as possible before the big forest trees block the full strength of the sun.
