Importance of the Sun's Distance

Our distance from the sun is very important because it has to be just the right distance for certain temperatures because a lot of animals have to live in a certain temperature in order to survive. Like us, we can't live in too hot or too cold. If we were closer to the sun we would all burn up. If we were farther away from the sun we would all freeze up.
-Elias

The planet doesn't rotate which causes two completely different types of species to live on either side of the planet. The planet is also very reliant on its food chain so if one species were to go extinct then the entirety of the remaining species would die too. Although the planet does have a safe zone on the equator because it is getting enough heat and energy but also enough light to make a safe haven for another string of species to survive.

The Sun(s) are both kind of medium sizes. If there was two suns in our solar systems that were exactly the same size as the ones in the Kepler-16b, it would be, as one person put it, a little frosty. Both stars are very small compared to the sun in our Solar System. "In such a frigid environment, all Earth's water would be frozen, and Boss strongly doubts life would have arisen here. Earth under two suns "is not a habitable planet unless you had an advanced life form that originated elsewhere that could keep itself warm."
-Elias
