How earthquakes are caused?

20 pieces of geological plates constantly move. Fault planes are caused (this is where two plates experience his amount of friction) and this is where earthquakes are made. These quakes are made all the time but they are mostly too small to reach us. Howbeit, sometimes they can reach us from 1000 miles away. Hypocenter is where the earthquake originates from and the place where it occurs is called the epicenter. There are three types of earthquakes one of them is the convergent boundary here one plate is forced over another, which causes thrust faults. Another on is called the divergent boundary where plates shift apart from eachother causing a rift zone and creates new ocean floors. Finally, the transform fault where plates rub against eachother (this may also be called the 'strike slip'). Earthquakes are nothing but the shaking, rolling or a sudden shock of the earth's surface. Also tsunamis are occured when earthquakes occur under the water.
