Romanticism and the products of that way of thinking inspired me the most when I ought to be creative. Having the idea to romanticize life and its beauty helped me to live through many low points of my journey in self-discovery, and this ideology made me realize that just as in nature, one’s mentalities and little details are beautiful and unpredictable; and that’s okay, because that’s the way it is.

Created by famous French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, existentialism believes that existence precedes essence, and we are all born with no purpose, and through actions or paths we take, we create purpose ourselves (The Ethic Center editors). However, there are, too, contradicting elements in this way of thinking. For example, there is the concept of absurdity. It means to search for answers in an answerless world (our world and actions lack any real inherent importance). Furthermore,  existentialists believe that God didn’t make the universe or anything with any particular purpose (The Ethic Center editors).

The term is bad faith, and it is the last thing I want to counter in life. As mentioned before, I’ve always wanted to be an artist but that dream had been discouraged by many people in my life, especially my family. When I tried listening to them and following their plan for my life, I felt like I’d fallen into a downward spiral of endless confusion and depression, and I felt like my purpose in life had ceased to exist as I only lived to the standards of other people.
