I was about 10 years old and I remember I use to babysit my neighbors 1 yr old twins to make money. Their names were Marissa and Melissa. I would watch them on a regular basis after school and sometimes on the weekends so that my neighbor who's name was Vicky could run errands such as grocery shop, pay bills, etc. She would pay me about $40 a week depending on how much I watched the twins. My neighbor was very generous to me and well helped me save the money I earned so that I could buy school clothes. I still remember the excitement I had walking through the store picking what I wanted. I can cook but I don't really like to but I love home cooked food. I'm not big on trying new foods either I usually stick to what I know. Although I did try fish for the first time a few months ago after 35 years of saying I don't like fish. I have 7 kids so cooking at home is a must and eating out is a rare occasion. It's more like a treat. So finding new ways to save money on buying groceries is always a plus. In the same way that the Nacirema people have their beliefs, rituals, and practices is the way that we as Americans idolize our bodies or criticize our bodies or even others bodies. In American culture we are highly critical of the way ones self looks. Too pretty not, pretty enough,Too tall, or too short. Not the right color hair, to much makeup not enough makeup. too many tattoos or piercing. Everyone is always going to have an opinion but I believe that we are all beautiful however God created us to be. It can tell a whole story and you don't even have to speak one word. You can tell if someone is happy or sad, upset, angry. You can tell if they are uncomfortable or very comfortable. I feel it is very expressive. I have been in this on again off again relationship for the past year and he communicates effectively well with his words but his actions and most of all his body language tells me when I can trust the words he is saying and when I cannot. Also he believes society is all on the same page as one another, they all wanted the same goals and had the same attitudes. That the system all worked together in perfevt harmony. While Marxs finds that society is not a happy place and that people are constantly in confict. Each type looks at the lived experiences of the subjects. They are all seeking to make sense of historical events, as well as come from a sociological tradition. Like a puzzle putting one piece at a time to build the bigger picture. Such as sociological perspectives bring insight into education issues. It brings further research, can identify possible solutions as well as promotes self-reflection. The teacher and student relationship needs to be open and encouraged. when students are encouraged to work together nd help each other out more learning and understanding takes place. Also when you understand what you are being taught so that you can be active in the learning and apply it to real life. Time management is a big part of being successful. Don't wait until the last minute to complete an assignment. I think it is imperative to have feedback on the progress or lack of on your work. I think if the instructor has clear instructions on what is expected. Speak up and ask when your not sure or don;t understand something. Communication is key. Especially based on the nature of the crime. I know not all crimes get the same punishment based on the kind of crime and severity of the crime everyone being convicted gets sentenced based on the details of their crime. I believe they should have some type of system to help ex-convicts to get employment after release so that they are less likely to get in trouble again. It especially troubles me when I read the statistics black versus the white ex-convicts. I think we are at a day in age where by now everyone should be treated equally regardless of their color, sex, religious origin etc. I believe we should all have a fair chance in life and everyone makes mistakes.
