" In the Spring of 2023, only 56 out of every 100 fourth-graders were doing math at the level they should be.

In 2019, before the pandemic, it was 69 out of 100. "(need citation). This shows that students need more learning because they only have 56/100. That is more than half but it is also less and in 2019 it was 69/100. It shows that they are under that grade lever and now they need more learning time and to do that students need no more recess to get back on our feet.

I think that students need less recess and it is because of this reason. Students are not focused and we are more lazy because our screens. It is because the screen in the covid was making us have a lower focus because they got used to the lower attention span. The students are also getting lazy and the reason why is because the parents. It is because the parents are not focusing on doing homework, so students feel like they don't need too. The parents are also not focusing on the kids to study and kids are not becoming smarter and it is also harder to do classwork because they don't know what to do in classroom.

In the paragraph it say that "Almost four out of five students who finish eighth grade at a K.I.P.P school go to college. In the United States, less than one out of five low-income students go to college". This tells us that more schools help us more than less school, It is because the K.I.P.P school is 10 hours but U.S.A schools are less than 6 hours and that why less kids you to collage in the U.S.A. It also says that "Instead of only focusing on reading and math, the new school day lets kids learn about many different subjects". This is important support to say that more school time means more time to say more school times means having more time to have fun.

(RecessGuardian.org) This shows that unstructured recess can help academically in students. It is because it also helps with social skills in kids.

"Dr. Sergio Pellis noted that countries where the recess period is longer tend to have higher

academic performances compared to countries where recess breaks are less".(RecessGuardian.org) This says that a longer recess can help with higher academic skill in students.

"Being creative is important because it helps kids' brains grow more than following rules". (web.diffit.me) This shows that free play is better than structured recess. It was because it makes kids smarter.

"Play can help kids deal with stress and learn how to get along with others. But it can also make them smarter!"(web.diffit.me) This is important because in a study they get students to cut the student to 4 teams. The first two teams were playing but the second was listening to a story but the one of the team was only one student. The first two teams were doing better than the second team that was listening to the story.

(web.diffit.me). This is important because it shows that playing can help you with learning. "kids play can keep them from growing up to be curious and creative." (web.diffit.me) This shows that playing is not about just having fun it is about helping kids to be curious and growing up. It can also give kids imagination that can help them learn. ecided that play could just be a sign that a child is developing well.

" free play promotes intellectual and cognitive growth, emotional intelligence, and benefits social interactions". (KevinMD) This means that emotional intelligence means that like don't cry for stuff that doesn't go your way. Like if your mom can't buy you something, If you have emotional intelligence you won't be on the floor crying about it. The meaning of social interaction, That means that you can talk to people with no problems. It's like if you are talking to someone and you don't have any problems talking to him, That is social interaction. The meaning of cognitive growth means that you are growing up the right way and not the wrong way because if you grow up cognitive, it can help when your older.
