What is HTML?

How is the basic syntax of an HTML document?

b)    strategy to be used: Teacher-led demonstration (with a video) followed by student practice.

c)     Description of the teaching-learning process:

Showing the students, the YouTube video linked above for them to be introduced to the concept.

Going through the video part by part, so for example finishing the first 1 minute of it, pausing, rephrasing or repeating if needed, and then continuing. And when the video is done, going through a discussion by firstly asking students what they know now, after the video they just watched, about web development and HTML.

After checking for understanding: Ensuring they get as creative as possible and increasing their excitement for the next activity by asking open ended questions like “How do you think colors are going to be added?”

The teacher present the website W3schools which I included above, He skips the introduction that they already did and get to the editor phase.

He acquire students to open the editor on their laptops and follow the instructions he’s explaining.

And finally making them open the file to see how what they typed looked like in a browser.

The teacher makes a short quiz:

He turns off the displayed screen, and the students are required to create a new HTML file and include whatever they want in it (based only on the little knowledge they got in the activity) and submitting the files to the teacher. (These are basics so they’re so easy to review). Students who finish first can go help other students who are struggling.
