A dog would be a calming influence on the boys.

Cons
A dog is an animal. They can be unpredictable. How would we know it was the right dog for the school before it bit someone?
Who would end up looking after it? My children and husband all promised to look after our dog but they are not so good. 
How would we know that all children/staff that are yet to come to Moatbridge are not going to be allergic, scared etc

Something different - our school will be different from others, which is a good thing.
We might get to see the 'nice' side of people if there were a dog to stroke/play with.

If someone is being bullied then they can talk to the dog about it because the dog would not judge them.
