         <description><![CDATA[<div>pro<br>Pupils can take responsibility for looking after/walking /feeding.<br>Can calm pupils down when they are angry.<br>Time with the dog could be given as a reward to pupils.<br>Lunchtime could be walking the dog instead of just walking to the shops.<br><br><br>con<br>They can be messy and need cleaning up after.<br>They leave hairs everywhere.<br>Some people are allergic to animals.<br>Some pupils may be angry and hurt the dog.<br>Some pupils and staff may be frightened of dogs.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Yes.....<br>1. Boys find it easier to be 'nice' to a dog than they do each other or adults.<br>2. Can be a useful 'tool' to help upset boys calm down.<br>3. A good chance for boys to take on responsibility.<br><br>No.....<br>1. May cause boys to be distracted from lessons.<br>2. Dog may get anxious/worried when boys are 'kicking off'.<br>3. May cause problems in terms of sharing the dog between different boys or groups of boys.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pros<br>Think it would help boys show affection.<br>Would help boys show and develop responsibility for someone/thing other than themselves.<br>A dog would be a calming influence on the boys.<br><br>Cons<br>A dog is an animal. They can be unpredictable. How would we know it was the right dog for the school before it bit someone?<br>Who would end up looking after it? My children and husband all promised to look after our dog but they are not so good. <br>How would we know that all children/staff that are yet to come to Moatbridge are not going to be allergic, scared etc<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pros<br>To calm people down because the dog will be happy and make people happy.<br>To teach the dog to do tricks because it will be fun to do.<br>People can get fit by training the dog and working with it everyday. They will also like the dog and care for it.<br><br>Cons<br>Some people might hurt it because they are too angry and do not like dogs.<br>The school might not have enough money because people break lots of things and they have to be replaced.<br>The school will smell if we do not clean it - because nobody will offer to clean it.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pros<br>Somebody to talk to.<br>Something different - our school will be different from others, which is a good thing.<br>We might get to see the 'nice' side of people if there were a dog to stroke/play with.<br>Calming for boys/staff.<br>If someone is being bullied then they can talk to the dog about it because the dog would not judge them.<br>It would stop people shouting around the school.<br><br>Cons<br>Allergies<br>People might be scared of dogs.<br>It could cause arguments between boys or staff.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pros<br>It will teach the students responsibility because they will be caring for an animal.<br>It will help people calm down and get them back into class.<br>A happy and playful puppy will calm you down.<br>Teaching students hgow to care for a living animal because it will give the students responsibilities such as: feeding/walking etc and making sure that the puppy gets the right amount of exercise.<br><br>Cons<br>The dog may get scared and bite a student that is in a fight.<br>A student may be scared of the dog and hit it.<br>People may not want to clean up after the dog.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pros:- A school dog could help the boys with their social/emotional development.<br>Boys could learn much from being responsible for another living thing.<br>Could help with positive social interaction between boys.<br>Cons:- Vets/Insurance are costly. The school cannot afford to fund this.<br>As with all living things, it could die.<br>Not everyone likes dogs. Is it fair on members of staff who began working in a school which didn't have a dog?<br>Allergies/Asthma are very common in children.These are often triggered by animal hair.<br>Some of the boys here are cruel to animals. Could we be sure that boys wouldn't harm our dog?</div>]]></description>
