Even though these men all seemed so disgusted by slavery they owned so so so many themselves and they even made sections in the constitution called the three fifths compromise. It stated that each slave counted as three fifths of a person when the population was being counted for representatives for congress. This caused a dispute between the north and the south. Since the north were non slave states and the south slave states the amount of representatives the south got would be more because the slaves made up 40% of the population.

The Constitution used the words "people", "persons"or "citizens". It said nothing about women's right to vote or own land that was left to the state and what their laws stated.

He took notes on basically everything, every debate discussed possible change, everything and after he died his journal was kept secret for a short while until the government purchased and published it. Madison was also the one to actually write the document and he drafted 19 amendments and 12 got passed.
