As part of an online community known as the Kaleidoscope Museum project I will be discuss about the Tunisia disappearing culture and nomads. My contribution is to make a padlet for showing the Tunisian minority culture. Tunisia is 99% Muslim and that tends to dominate the cultural activity of the country, but there is also there was a lot of Bedouin nomads in Tunisia who have a special traditional culture, but Tunisia culture are disappearing because of urbanization. Tourism is influential because when the visitor from other country will bring their culture to Tunisia will effect on Tunisia own culture, Hotel chain in Tunisia is cover by Marriott, but the problem is Marriott has 7,000+ properties and across 131 countries that will make Tunisia hotel can’t show their unique culture, Tunisia does not have a strong economic or political power in the world, so their culture will be superseded by other cultures of bigger countries like American, French, Roman for those who had dominated Tunisia before. And also because the time have change and people spread the systematic agriculture, and the growth of industry that will make nomads settle. This is problematic for the distinctiveness of Tunisian culture because the nomadic cultures within Tunisia needs to be remembered, if this kind of culture be superseded then people will soon forget this. And that could also adversely affect its tourist industry due to a lack of diversity, because when visitor travel to Tunisia and they will only experience similar culture to their own and that will make the tourist industry earnings go down.
