Drug use impacts the story in a way because it made a bunch of them make negative decisions like drugs.

In the beginning it doesn't have anything to do with the story setting until they hit the road.

 No this issue does not impact the ultimate theme in this novel because  it talks about other things like when they go on there road trip and party.

Emma thinks the trip was better than the party and she changed her mind now she thinks breaking the rules isn't always a bad thing like having fun. she was impacted a lot because now she helps criminals instead of being " stuck up".

Teen drug use relates to my world because I know a lot of different people in my life who have or done drugs and in high school that is very common.

this issue needs to be solve because I believe drugs are not a good thing and can lead people to very bad decisions. Also it can ruin families and teenage lives causing them not to graduate in time or at all.

In the last couple of years these are the statistics of high schoolers drinking and smoking

Alcohol
-68% of 12th graders have tried alcohol
-37.4% have drank in the last month
-23.5% of 10th graders have drank in the past month

Drugs 
-35.1% of 12th graders have smoked pot in the past year 
-21.3% of 12th graders  have smoked pot in the past 30 days 
-16.6% of 10th graders have smoked pot in the past 30 days 
- 6% of 12th graders say they use marijuana everyday
- 81% of 12th say its easy to get marijuana 
-Only 32% of 12th graders think regular marijuana use is bad
