The character Holden is similar to the movie character Katniss Everdeen. This is because through out the movie the Hunger Games, Katniss thsaid main character is pulled into a game of Everyman for himself. She doesn't fully understand her surroundings and what's happening. The story is told from her point of view so we see her thoughts. This relates to Holden as because we see Holden's point of view on things and his thoughts. Holden is portrayed to be or feel alone. He too is trying to figure out his surroundings, and what life really is all about. In the midst of that, he gets caught up in smoking, his language, and failing his classes.

Like a grizzly bear, Holden comes off gruff and mean but can sometimes be gentle and kind. They are both misunderstood and immediately judged by their outside characteristics. Both him and the bear can be gentle and kind but when aggravated they come off aggressive and mean.

The song "Buy U a Drank" by T-Pain reminds me of Holden during the 8th and 9th chapters of the book because he is continually asking people like the taxi driver to go get a cocktail with him because he would pay for it. No one though says yes because it's the middle of the night and bars arent even open. No, he is not trying to offer women a bunch of drinks so he can bring them home lik T-Pain is, but he is Buying U a Drank

Holden talks and acts like he doesn't care about anything, yet his actions show that he actually cares a lot. Holden likes to go through life giving off the impression that he doesn't care about anything at all. But Holden is easily upset by things which shows that he cares a lot. He becomes very angry when he feels like someone he cares about is being disrespected.

His first description of each character focuses more on his or her issues and problems than his or her nice qualities. He seems perfectly fine with the way he acts towards others and fails to see the wrong in himself. This verse from the bible sums him up really well to me because he seems to be looking for the worst in people and does not look at himself.

Holden reminds me of Billy, from Where the Red Fern Grows. They both do not fully understand why things happen the way they do. They also know what they like and want but it is hard for them to get it because they don't ask for things a lot. They also are helpful to the people in their lives.
