As the "truth and lie " is mentioned, it makes the students communicate with each other and meanwhile they'll learn as well.

About the 5 seconds game and 20 questions, they can be good ways to encourage the students or learners to study. Because the challenge makes them to talk in English, not just memorizing some grammar structures or new words. For learning a new/ foreign language, you don't need to memorize everything, because they'll disappear from your mind soon if you don't use them. But when you use what you've studies, it'll go in your long-term memory so you won't forget it easily.

Learning means changing the way we think or behave through experience or study. In class teachers guide and support students instead of just talking and learners take an active role by asking questions and practicing. Good facilities and materials like books and videos help a lot. ESL is learning English in an English speaking country while EFL is learning it elsewhere. Every learner is different so teachers should consider their needs and learning styles.

For instance, if the lesson is about the colors, you can start communicating with the learners about their favorite colors.

And person based activity, we can mention Ice breaker activities, like snowball activity, write few fun questions on a ball, let the learners throw it to each other and each person who faces a specific question, answer it and the game goes on.

The reason I chose these activities is because I like to be friendly with the students, I want to create a comfort zone for the learners, not a place where they feel they're forced. The learning can be effective when they enjoy it.

Part 2- Teacher and learner roles:

Task 3- categorization:

1- teacher

2-teacher

3 -teacher

4- learner

5- both

6- learner

Task 4- reflection question:

I think being a facilitator is more important in a modern classroom. Of course, teachers should know the language well, but students learn better when the teacher helps them discover things by themselves. A facilitator gives students more chances to talk, share ideas, and learn through communication, not just by listening to explanations.

Part 3- learning styles and preferences:

Task 5:

1-visual

2- kinesthetic

3- Reading and writing

4-auditory

Task 6:

Visual learning style:

The process and the way you learn something is very important. In a course , whether a face-to-face or online class, it's important to identify what learning style works best for you.

Even as a teacher you can work on different styles, change the styles time to time to help your learners learn more efficiently.

Different styles of learning can be isolated to: Visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading and writing styles, that all of them are good ways.

Some pupils are interested in learning things visually.

Visual learners are people who learn best through seeing things. They remember information better when it is presented with images, colors, diagrams, or videos. For example, they often prefer reading texts with charts or watching demonstrations instead of only listening to explanations.

In the classroom, visual learners enjoy using flashcards, mind maps, PowerPoint slides, and posters. They also like taking notes with different colors or symbols, because it helps them organize information in their mind.

As teachers, we can support visual learners by using pictures, body language, and written keywords while teaching. This way, they can connect what they see with what they hear.

Overall, visual learning makes lessons more interesting, helps with memory, and allows students to process information more effectively.

Part4- Theories of learning:

Task 7: behaviorism: a

Cognivitism: d

Constructivism: c

Humanism: b

Task8-

Answer:3

Part5-

Task 9-

Grammar -translation : e

Direct approach:g

Audio lingual:f

Communicative:a

Task based:h

Lexical:c

Content based:d

Humanistic:b

Task 10 -“Creating a Café Menu”, task based approache:

The task is “Creating a Menu for a Café.”

I’ll divide students into small groups and tell them that they are going to open their own café. Each group needs to decide on:

1-the name of their café,

2- 4–5 food or drink items,

3- the prices.

They can also add a short slogan or a “special of the day” if they want.

During the task, students will discuss their ideas, make decisions together, and write their final menu on paper.

As the teacher, I’ll walk around, listen, and help only if they really need vocabulary or pronunciation support . I won’t interrupt to correct every mistake.

After they finish, each group will present their café menu to the class. Then we’ll vote for the most creative café.

At the end, I’ll give short feedback, maybe highlight some useful expressions like “How about adding…?” or “Let’s make it cheaper.”

This task helps students use English for a real purpose, practice groupwork, and communicate naturally , which is exactly what the Task-Based Approach focuses on.

Part 6-

Task 11-

ESL: 1) it's acquired in the environment a person lives naturally. 2) it can be used in everyday life.

3) to communicate and it's used almost everyday.

EFL: 1) it can be taught in courses. 2) it's used while it's needed or when a person is talking with the native of that specific language. 3) to communicate and have the knowledge of understanding the foreign language but it's not used in everyday life.

Task 12- EFL is better. Because it's taught academic and the learners don't have to use it in their everyday life. They just need the knowledge to understand it.

Task 13-

Language Learning Theories:

1. Behaviorism – Learning happens through repetition, imitation, and reinforcement.

2. Cognitivism – Learning involves mental processes, understanding, and applying rules.

3. Constructivism – Learners build knowledge through experience and interaction.

4. Humanism – Focuses on emotions, motivation, and personal growth in learning.

5. Interactionism – Language develops through social interaction and communication.

Language Teaching Approaches:

1. Grammar Translation Method – Focuses on grammar rules and translation between L1 and L2.

2. Direct Method – Teaches vocabulary and structures through speaking, without translation.

3. Audio-Lingual Method – Based on repetition and drills to form correct language habits.

4. Communicative Approach (CLT) – Emphasizes real-life communication and fluency over accuracy.

5. Task-Based Learning (TBL) – Students learn language through completing meaningful tasks.

6. Lexical Approach – Focuses on vocabulary chunks and collocations rather than grammar.

7. Content-Based Instruction (CBI/CLIL) – Language is learned through studying real subject content.

8. Humanistic Approach – Emphasizes emotions, self-expression, and creating a supportive environment.

Task 14-

A good language teacher is not only knowledgeable but also creative and supportive in the class. From the first sessions of the course, I learned how important it is to use icebreaker, warm-up, and lead-in activities to build a positive atmosphere and motivate or encouraged students. A good teacher helps students communicate and feel confident when they talk, not being scared of making mistakes, or he or she doesn't just focus on grammar rules. They use different teaching approaches such as communicative or task-based methods to make learning meaningful and enjoyable for their pupi

ls. Most importantly, a good teacher understands learners’ needs and creates a comfortable learning environment or comfort zone.

what i learned this session was that at first i thought reading process is only limited to skiming and scanning the text and the learners will get it, but tht was totally wrong becuase their minds should be prepared before they read the passage with some stages and activities that make them predict about the subject and engage their minds to read the text. stages are pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading. activities are matching the phrases, discussion, answering some questions by skimming the text and answering some other questions by scanning the text and in the end we attach the subject to the learner's real life or emotions so they understand effectively.

Part A)
1- To understand the process of constructing meaning from written texts.
2-1) to improve comprehension - 2) to expand vocabulary - 3) to develop reading skills and strategies.
3- The reader: is not a passive recipient of information. We can't give a reader a complex text and before reading a text their background knowledge should be built.
The text: not all texts are created equal. With engaging and appropriate books to practice a teacher can teach reading strategies.
The context: reading never happens in a vacuum. With a discussion and sharing ideas deep comprehension happens.
4- because it will be attached to the learner's knowledge and real life and they can use the information in other areas like speaking and writing.
5- critical reading, fluency, decoding, comprehension.
6- Skim, scan, intensive reading, extensive reading, academic reading
7- when we want to get a gist quickly, and when we decide the article worths deeper reading or when we preview a chapter. E. G= glancing through a news website to see today's top stories and headlines.
8- To locate specific information without needing to read the entire text. It's a rapid search keywords or data points.
9- in extensive reading we read for pleasure and general understanding without worrying about the new words. But in intensive reading we pay precise attention to the detail and language and it's slower with deep analysis.
10- novels, online stories or blogs, graded readers.
11- for exams, working on complex comprehension tasks and analyzing a passage.
12- They should select the correct reading type for material, it saves time and improves learning outcomes. For facts and datas we use scanning, for leisure we use extensive reading strategy, for deep study we use intensive reading type and for getting the gist we skim the text.
13- 1) they can understand most of the words but the text is incomprehensible to them yet.
2) they're able to read and understand the text but soon they'll forget it.
3) the reading pace is too slow and they get bored.
4) they have to use a dictionary to look up for a lot of words.
14- pre-reading, while-reading, post-reading
15- to make background knowledge for learners.
16- teaching vocabulary, providing pictures, asking questions and having discussion before the text.
17- to understand or comprehense the text
18- scan, skim, answering comprehension questions.
19- to make sure that the text is understood and attach the knowledge to the learner's real life and emotions.
20- discussing personal opinions, roleplay, having a writing task.
21- in top down strategy, you mostly read for pleasure withouts caring about the details, you just want to comprehense the textand improve your skills while in bottom up strategy you read for studying and you pay close attention to the details, also vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation matters.
22- In interactive model, we blend both strategies, first the teacher activates background knowledge, and let the learners gain a general understanding, then they analyze the text and focus on language like the grammar.
23- A good teacher should provide structured activities, teach strategies, encourage extensive reading and link reading to the learner's real life.

Part B)
1- I think interactive model is the best, it might not be the easiest but the best in my notion. Because while you read for pleasure, you can pay attention to the language and learn new things and improve your skills.
2- A good teacher can provide background knowledge for their students and some activities, then after reading the text , a discussion can make the students more engaged to learning the target language because they're talking about themselves too , not just the lesson itself.
3- When you read for pleasure, and if you pay attention to the language, you can learn new slangs, new words, and improve your grammar skills, also you gain some knowledge about that field and you can use it in your writings or speech. In short it gives you more confidence while you use the target language.
