Some information I found in the first part of the research for the essay was how the electronics track and record your information. Nowadays, cameras and voicerecorders are on any appliance you buy. The TV, the phone, and even the refridgerator. They are meant to help ease the process of working these electronics, but pose a threat when they could be tracking your information. The FitBit company has a plan where they give you life insurance in exchange for the readings the device picks up. There are numerous web article authors that repeatedly say that our information is given away on a routine basis. Companies like Samsung and LG say they are only using the info for reccomendations, but haven't had any evidence to prove it.

The information I found in the second part of my research was mainly focused on how hackers and foreign companies are able to get a hold of your personal information and send it out to wherever they feel like. One startling thing that I found was that there was a marathon in Ireland, and a researcher with a scanner made out of $75 worth of parts was able to steal over 560 runners personal information off their FitBit. Another startling thing I found was that hackers can also get into your home data cloud through one device. In one instance, a baby monitor was hacked and the hacker gained access to the home security system and spoke threats through the monitor and moved the camera.

The third part of my research was all about what the government is trying to do to stop the theft of people's personal information. One thing that I found that kept coming up was that many do not think that the government is doing enough to protect people's information. What alot of goevernment agencies are doing is trying to find out the ways that hackers can get the information so they can come up with solutions to the problems.

The fourth part of information I found was all about how we can prevent our information from being stolen. One way you can prevent the loss of information is by disabling all of the voice and video recording features on your TV and other smart electronics around your house. Another thing you can do is put security systems on all of your electronics to stop your information from being stolen. The most effective solution though, is just to not buy a smart electronic in the first place.
