Since childhood, I have been known as a careless child, nd this reputation has followed me into my teenage years. Even as a teen, I was still a careless child who was often scolded by my father. One day, I went to my English course just like my usual Monday routine. It was already quite dark when my course finished. I rushed to the car that my parents had parked near the course. On my way there, I was scrolling through my phone, yes, I was walking while playing with my phone. After a few steps, suddenly my sole couldn't feel anything underneath. In a second, everything was blur and before I realized, I already plummeted into a waterway. Shocked washed over me as I processed what just happened. Since I was playing with my phone, I didn't realize that some of the iron bars that was supposed to cover the waterway were missing, and unfortunately, I had stepped right into the gap. I stayed still, waiting for my parents or anyone to lent me a hand but no one came, made the whole situation much worse. The embarassment even able to numbed the stinging pain in my leg. My father's voice snapped me out of my daze. I tried to getup and quickly went inside my car. My parents scolded me a bit on the way home but all I could think about was to arrive home as quickly as possible because there was more blood than I expected. When we arrived home, my father gasped at the sight of my injury, which was more serious than he thought it was. He and my mother quickly treated my wounds, and not skipping the scolding part. It hurt so much to the point I couldn't even get to school the next day. Since that day, I have never played with my phone while walking. I learned to fully paid attention to my surroundings. Now, I always make sure the path ahead is safe, no matter how tempting my phone might be.

Bambu Gila, or "Crazy Bamboo," is a unique tradition from Maluku, Indonesia. It’s a performance where a group of men tries to control a bamboo stick that seems to move on its own after being “awakened” by a shaman. The bamboo stick is believed to be posessed by the ancestral spirits. While some see it as mere superstition, Bambu Gila holds deep cultural significance as a way for the people of Maluku to honor their heritage and ancestral beliefs.

Bambu Gila is much more than just an entertainment or superstition show.
