The first prototype was just the mountain goat foot attached to a hiking boot. However, this would just create a more lifted shoe, and make it easier to fall. The second prototype tried to incorporate the shape of the foot into the tread, but still had a rubber tread and had the slip factor. The final prototype incorporated the shape of the tread into the foot, and putting tread on the shape of the goat foot. As well as giving the bottom of the shoe a harder bottom than just rubber.

This model of hiking boot would work well in that it has a harder bottom than rubber as well as the grip like the goat has. The typical rubber tread makes it easier to slip when the ground is wet or not solid, such as sand. The harder bottom, and the deeper treads will create a better grip, and make accidents less likely.

Mountain Goat adaptations can be useful to humans in hiking, off roading, and rock climbing. Using the way their feet are designed to update the designs of our boots, tires, and climbing equipment people would be less likely to be injured or die in accidents related to these activities.

The Mountain Goat is able to climb steep terrain due to their feet! The feet are hard on the outside and soft on the inside. The outsides are like bone in strength and durability. Their front toes move to help them grip the terrain better, like human fingers when we grip onto things. I observed a Mountain Goat in Yellowstone National Park over the summer. After almost falling into the base of a waterfall because I hiked something too steep, I was amazing watching the goat move.
