When reporter Adam Schefter made the public "tweet" about Jason's amputated finger he was breaking this rule. Immacula Richmond and Brenda Johnson were also at fault when they told people about Jason's private information without his authorization.
The Security Rule: The Security Rule protects patients private health information electronically.
Thoughts about the Violations

My thoughts about the violations are that I think that it's very unprofessional and irresponsible of the workers. I feel that way because of the fact that Schefters didn't request the information about the patient but was sent the information by a caregiver. I feel like that shouldn't have happened because it was the caregiver's place of work and they knew about not sharing their information with no one without the permission of the patient and mostly when it could have affected the patient's career knowing they were a football player.

Opinion on Outcome

My opinion on the outcome was that it was a good outcome. The outcome was that nurse Immacula Richmond and secretary Brenda Johnson both had their employment contracts terminated as a result of the privacy breach. I feel like that punishment was good because they shouldn’t have that job if they would be breaking Hippa and sending out patients' medical records.
