My main secondary source is another cartoon but from a different time period, the 1950’s/Korean war, that talks about the military draft and all the good it can do for you and all the benefits you’ll receive but it does not talk about the consequences of being drafted, the realness of war. This is a topic but my cartoons have that’s not really explicit, this being the true realities of war and the consequences it comes with. Something all my sources are connected with is the idea that propaganda can be used to win a war, that If it used effectively it can rally the people strongly together to all do their part for the job and defeat the enemy.

Initially, I focused on anti-immigrant propaganda against the Irish and Chinese in the 19th century, but after further analysis, I’ve come to connect the past to the present. I’ve built up a reasonable amount of historical context on this topic, but I’d like to connect it with attitudes towards immigrants today. More specifically, I’d like to compare not only propaganda against the Irish and Chinese in the 19th century but also how it’s changed over the years. I’d also like to analyze policies surrounding immigrants today.
