Paper is biodegradable as it breaks down eventually. May paper bags are made from recycled paper in recycling plant. If made from wood, trees are grown to replace the ones forested. Plastic bags is made of oil, natural gases and coal. This creates pollution as well as destroying wildlife by mining and other ways of extraction. Plastic doesn't break down, which means it can re-used although not everyone does and if it gets into the sea can pollute the ecosystem.
