When I first registered my account on it, I just followed several football stars, and every time I switched to the search page, I only clicked on the pictures or videos about football. Since then, I have gotten more recommendations about football player accounts, and the search page has been occupied by all kinds of football pics and videos. One day I finally got bored with the football things on the screen, I decided to burst the filter bubble and started to focus on other fields like photography and fitness, just to balance the variety of content which I might be exposed to.

I, however, will share my experiences in escaping the bubble. I have several social media accounts. Some are to simply connect and keep in touch with old friends, and others are to keep myself updated on news and events in my field of study. By keeping separate accounts, I am able to manage my filter bubble effectively and expose myself to a variety of content.

I was amused to learn that these platforms are trying to further curate what they see as sufficient for what is 'outside' the bubble, so I imagine that would also be limiting to some extent. However, I also see it working for some of the more active social media users that check these platforms on a daily basis more than x amount of times.
