This story was described to me by my father who was alive and very attentive during the 9/11 attacks.

"I remember the Rodney King riots in 1992 very clearly. I was living in Los Angeles at the time, and it felt like the city was falling apart. It all started after the acquittal of the police officers who were caught on video brutally beating Rodney King. The tension was already high, but once the verdict was announced, people took to the streets in anger, and the protests quickly turned violent. I could hear sirens and see plumes of smoke from burning buildings as I watched the news coverage. The National Guard was called in, and it felt like chaos was everywhere. It was a turning point in the conversation about race, police brutality, and inequality in this country, and the fear and frustration that spread throughout the city stayed with me long after the riots ended." This story was given to me by my mother regarding her experience and what she remembers during the Rodney King Riots in 1992.
