Collabortation is where a general education teacher and special education teacher will come together so they can make sure the students are understanding what is being taught. The teachers can ask questions, plan together, share ideas and listen together (McLeskey,2017). One way that teachers can collaborate is by co-Teaching, this is where teachers, typically a general education teacher and a special education teacher, will work together. They are both responsible for every student. When there are two teachers, this will allow the students to learn from two profesionals. One teacher can also give the instruction while the other one is giving any extra help to the students (Turnbull,2024).

Special education teachers have a big role when it comes to meetings. They will participate in meetings with families, IEP meeting, individualized family services plan (IFSP), and instructional planning. Special education teachers will develop a meeting agenda, set a time to meet goals, encourage communication, show that they are listening, and giving feedback. The special education teachers are the ones that need run any meetings so they run smoothly, make sure that everyone is involved and make sure the goals are accomplished (McLeskey,2017).

It is important that teachers collaborate with the families about the Childs needs, goals, programs and their progress. The families need have the rights to be informed about their Childs IEPs and IFSPs as well. Teachers need to build a positive relationship with the students, teachers and the families. Teachers should also encourage their students to self advocate with the hope of having self-determination over time (McLeskey,2017).

There are so many technology tools that could be used in the classroom, but here are a few options.

Class Dojo- This is an app where teachers, parents and the students can connect with each other. The parents are able to communicate with the teacher if they have any questions. Students can also go on this website which can also create positive behavior

https://www.classdojo.com/

Pear Deck- this is where students can be engaged and also be attentive in the classroom. Teachers can use this for formative assessments, interactive questions, and even add audio.

https://www.peardeck.com/integrations-partnerships

GoGaurdian- this is a tool where teachers can view what their students are looking at on their own computers. If a student is on a website or not doing what they are supposed to be doing, they can block that website.

https://www.goguardian.com/

(Sphero, 2022)
