The Broken Blade is the last book in a trilogy about Eamon Goodman. In the last two books we have learned about the heritage of Eamon. He is the descendant of the first right hand of the throned of the land whose name was Eben. The throned has taken a strong liking to Eamon and he promotes Eamon from the East Quarter hand in the city of Dunthruik to his right hand. Many of the Quarter hands ( including the former right hand who was demoted so that Eamon could get the position )are jealous of Eamon because of how much The throned loves him, so they make many successful jabs at those he loves and cares about. Eamon with the help of his friend captain Anderas, lieutenant Manners, and has staff of servants he is able to make it through all of his hardships. Something that all but Anderas have no idea about is that he does not truly serve the throned but rather the true king of the the realm Hughan Brenuin. The throned has charged Eamon for the preparation of Dunthruik for the arrival of Hughan or as the people know him the serpent. Eamon is indeed preparing for the arrival of the king but instead of preparing weapons for bloodshed he is making preparations so that the city will be ready for him to take claim of. When the eve of battle approaches Eamon decides that he will take as many men with him to the king on the battlefield as he can. As planned he pronounced his true colors on the battlefield but sadly was unable to convince any of the thrones soldiers but two, Wilhelm and Lonnam who did riding to Eamon's side. Eamon assumed his position as first knight to the king as they conquered Dunthruik convincing as many people as they could to surrender. They successfully killed the throned and the king was given his rightful claim over the land and is married with in a month. Eamon is able to make amends with most of the people he has wronged and even got back together with his love Alessia Turnholt.

Eamon Goodman - Eamon Goodman is a very caring character who wants what is best for the people around him and he only wants to use violence as a last resort. However he is very easily swayed from one side to another but he always finds his way back to Hughan

Hughan Brenuin - A very forgiving man who is new to being a king but many people love him for how kind and gentle he is so it was not hard for him to find allies. No matter what Eamon has done or said Hughan always forgives him and does his best to help him through his struggles.

Edelred (the throned) - Edelred is a very intimidation man who is wise because of his many long years of life, he is very intimidating because at all time he is surrounded by red and he can summon anyone in Dunthruik at will. He is also a very powerful ruler who can control a powerful burning light through his hand and he has the power to grant those who serve him special abilities. We also see how powerful he is because everytime people are brought before him they are scared.

The entire story takes place in the city of Dunthruik. The location has a very impact on the story because it shows how for most of the book Eamon is trapped within the city and how he is unable to avoid the influence of the throned. THis also helps to establish ow much Eamon cares for the well being of the city.

THis book was very enjoyable and did an exemplary job at rapping up the trilogy. I enjoyed this book because of how it was a good combination of excitement and slower story. Every page makes you fall in love with Eamon and his companions. This book is also very emotional and it is amazing at making the reader feel all of the emotions within its pages.

I would definitely recommend this book to people who enjoy books about fictional history with in depth character development.

AS weird as it is I found the first book to the trilogy in the Guilderland public library on accident. My parents told me to find a book so I grabbed the book off of the shelves because the cover and title "The Traitor's Heir" looked interesting. At first I didn't even touch it but when my parents forced me to read something I became instantly hooked on it. It came to the point where I read the second book in less than two weeks because I was so invested in it. This third book was no exception I enjoyed reading every page and I know others will also love reading it.
