Taking the bus allowed them to observe things around them in real life, which linked closely to the theme “Things Around Us.” The visit to the library also provided exposure to a new environment and helped the children develop curiosity about books.


However, the extension activity of searching for specific books in the library felt a little challenging for this age group. As the library’s collection is wide but not always directly related to the theme, it may not be easy for the children to immediately find suitable books. In addition, the book-sharing session was slightly too long, and we noticed that some children found it difficult to stay focused for an extended period of time.


Overall, the outing was engaging and beneficial :)

This would help keep the session shorter and more focused.

After a brief sharing, the teacher could guide the children in a simple, related game/games. This would serve as a fun conclusion and help wrap up the topic as just complete the learning cycle.

To find a book based on the theme quite challenging with active toddler in tow. Hahah. But I enjoyed the sit down together and read while my child roam around freely in the library. A very meaningful experience.
