1. I learned more about Juror 7, and his brash attitude and loudness made his character stand out against the majority of the jurors, who more so followed the crowd instead of voicing their personal opinions.

I love these two lines, you can tell that Amanda Gorman wants love and kindness to everyone as America is not just about pride, but to be united together by making amends from the past and share kindness to people.

I can see all the points of views from the jurors and while not all of their morals are correct or good I can see that the individuals background's play a big role in how they are treating the boy.

2) I am able to follow the plot better in class than if I were to read it outside of class. I feel more focused and I can understand better having it acted out.

3) It has been helpful to hear and see others reading and acting the play out. I feel when we do that you get a better feel of what it would be like in the room.

2. I am able to follow the plot quite well when reading in class, as the dialogue is clear and the phrasings used are understandable.

3. Watching the movie has been an enormous help in understanding the play, as it gives me a visual that shows the emotions of each juror, as well as the tone of the words being said. This cannot be done over just the script. As for what isn't helpful, I'm still unsure how SOAPStone will tie back to all of this.

Class discussions are also really helpful since it exposes me to new ideas and perspectives, as well as, provides clarification to any confusing parts.

She is realistic however, and mentions the obvious detriments of our country. But with each mention of our flaws, she reminds us that this is not our impending doom. D) Gorman's worldview compared with Reginald Rose's seems to be much more hopeful. Rose includes the very prominent group of people that have the same stubborn mindsets as Juror 10 and Juror 5, declaring all those who disagree with them as fools. Rose does have hope for justice in the end, but is much more realistic about how society deals with POCs. Gorman mentions her status as a black girl, reminding everyone that she is a descendant of slaves. But that's as far as she goes for a negative worldview. d) Rose and Gorman have similar points in their views of how society can be self destructive, though Gorman also greatly expresses how this is not a loss hope and that there is always a possibility and time for society to improve itself, something that Rose does express but not to a large degree.

Gorman seems to be overall optimistic about humanity, but she also adds the pessimistic side to humanity as well. The optimistic side is supposed to empower us that we don't have to use violence and we can be civil to each other in America. I think Gorman adds the pessimistic side in the speech to give the sense of reality that it's not always so easy to do it without violence as the world isn't so friendly. 

D. Both writers added both the optimistic and pessimistic. The difference I see is that Rose's play seem to balance out the optimistic and pessimistic. Rose's characters offers up new perspectives, but there were characters that attacked those new perspectives causing conflict against them.
