I am curious about many things in my reading. For example, I am curious if Ivy’s speech will go wrong; it was brought up that her brother had messed up one of her speeches before, and now her mom is worried. I am also curious on how her class election went. I wonder how she will act in school knowing she lost to the class clown. In addition, I am curious about two things: who Charlie is and why Matteo is so worried.

The song I chose that explains the tone and mood of my book so far is “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana. I chose this song because it captures the teenage angst and rebellion. This is similar to how Ivy, Cal, and Matteo skipped school and put a sort of teenage rebellion mood to the book. The lyrics “Our little group has always been and always will until the end.” Are similar to how the main characters have been friends since middle school when they skipped class as 6th graders, living vicariously through each other. It gave a warm and friendly tone.

My book is very similar to the show Pretty Little Liars. In both pieces of media, the main characters are caught up in a murder mystery. Both girls, the main characters, have secrets from the past coming out. Also, they share themes such as the kids having to solve the murder and friendships being tested.

This meme represents a theme in my book because there are a lot of things relating to death. The book is about murder mystery; it revolves around the death of a classmate. You can also see certain relationships and friendships die within the book. For example, Ivy and her brother’s relationship. During a random day, the plot quickly turns into death everywhere.

A surprising twist that could happen in my book is one of the main characters could have killed the kid. This would have completely altered the plot of the book and would bamboozle the friends. Although, the close friends would have ostracized the killer.
