We travelled back in time to Ancient Rome!

We had an exciting journey back in time to the Roman era! We were joined by a special Roman visitor named Luca, who brought history to life with fascinating stories and activities.

We had the chance to explore Roman artefacts, learn all about life in Roman times, and even practise reading and writing Roman numerals. We also took part in drama and role play activities, imagining what it would have been like to live in ancient Rome.

It was a fantastic day full of learning, discovery and fun and a brilliant way to bring our history topic to life!

History- The Victorians and The Industrial Revolution

We visited Quarry Bank Mill to consolidate our learning about the Victorians and the Industrial Revolution. During the visit, we explored the historic cotton mill and discovered how textiles were produced using large machinery powered by water. We learned about the important role mills played during the Industrial Revolution and how they helped Britain become a leading industrial nation.

We also found out what life was like for Victorian workers, including children who worked long hours in the mill. Through guided tours and hands-on activities,we were able to compare working conditions in the past with those of today. The visit brought our history topic to life and helped us develop a deeper understanding of how the Industrial Revolution changed people’s lives.
