I definitely agree with this statement because everyone has two sides to them. Most people will support those showing their good side, but others - like those possibly raised in bad neighborhood or with parents that were alcoholics or drug addicts - could've been exposed to some things that most people wouldn't think is okay, but it's all they knew. No one is born evil and no one is born a saint, they are raised in an environment with people who embrace the dark side of someone and do not-so-good things themselves.

Yes, I believe this statement is true because everyone has good and bad inside of them, your choices and acts will nurture either side. Nobody is born evil and nobody is born evil, but your choices effect who you become. In The Storyteller, the author started off as a normal boy but once he went to the Hitler camp he started to see that he was praised for doing evil things and he ended up beating up his little brother who he initially was supposed to protect. The monster inside of him was nurtured.

I agree, because in everyone I believe they have 2 sides. The good side is what most people embrace, because thats the side most people like to be around. The other side is the side most people do not like to be around. This bad side can be embraced by few, but most of it comes out as an accident. An example would be in "All Quiet on the Western Front" when Paul tries his hardest not to kill anyone, but when he is forced into the hole with the Gerard, he savagely repeatedly stabs him without any hesitation.

I agree with this statement as in every person you can be mean, or you can be nice. I believe that each person can be nice or mean, like a robber chose to do the things he did. He wasn't born to just be a hateful person as he nurtured the bad side. Each person choses what he wants to be when he/she grows up. So I believe this statement is true.

I agree with this statement, as your actions will define who you mature into or change into. If someone grew up in a bad neighborhood, and was exposed to drugs and crime daily, they'd be more likely to develop into a criminal themselves. While, on the other hand, someone who is raised in a small town where everyone is friendly would be more likely to be friendly towards others. Every person chooses who they become in the future, and they determine their actions that lead them into the life they will live.

There will possibly be a situation where you will always have to do something to survive. In the article it says that his adrenaline was pumping and he felt invincible. I believe that every person has a different side of them and every has certain demons they nurture. What you do, or your personality is inside, and depending on who your with or what your surrounded by you will have a different attitude towards things.

Its just your attitude that you choose which makes it a good or bad thing. For example you could choose to view a cup as half full or even half empty. If you think its half full you are thinking more positive, but if you think the cup is empty then you are thinking more negatively. Basically you can choose to be happy and a saint or be a monster and negative.

He never excelled in school but when he joined the Hitler club he started to excel and so this made him feel powerful.

Humans have the capability to be savage killing machines or very kind creatures. The author had said that inside each of us is a saint and a monster. I do believe this is true, as, for example, soldiers during peace time can be cool, kind, people but, during war, they can be violent killing machines. Another example is with Elie in Night, when Elie was first taken by the Nazis, he kept with his father, protected him, and cared for him but, later on in the book, Elie looked out for himself more so than he did with his father. Elie allowed his father to take care of himself and, eventually, it became easier for him to do so... Case in point, being can be monsters and people can be saints and, if you nurture one over the other, one of those sides can become powerful and control your actions.

The statement is true because everyone has some kindness and some evilness to them, but one is more prominent than the other. An example from the The Storyteller is when Josef joins Hitler's Youth and becomes cruel. His mother had told him to look out for his brother, which he did but after a while, more specifically after he jumped into the pool, he started ignoring Franz. He had also beat his brother up and threatened others. Josef was letting his monster shine through. Another example is murders, their evil overpowers their kindness, but there is still some kindness in them. They may have a family they care for or a passion for something like art or sports. It's true that everyone has two sides to them, but one side will outshine the other.

Yes I agree with the statement above, everyone has the right to make their decision whether they want to be a good or bad person. In different situations presented to oneself you can choose how to respond to it. If you want others to see the good or bad characteristics of yourself and whether you allow yourself respond in a positive or negative way. But there are times when you most allow a different reaction to respond to a situation based on the circumstances.

The narrator isn’t all bad, even though that’s the side that triumphs in the end. He sticks by his brother for quite a while before leaving him behind and choosing a more violent path.
