Over the past couple of weeks we have been busy discussing experiences such as reading, singing and the use of props such as puppets that support oral language. Other play-based experiences I love observing oral language in are:
- Socio-dramatic play in the sandpit where they are cooking up cakes or busy being construction workers and communicating with others while engaged in this
- Exploratory play such as finger painting, slime or shaving foam and discovering the colours being made or discussing how it feels through their fingers
- Cooperative play where children are engaged in building or constructing together while discussing and negotiating what they are doing
