Can the students share their toontastic stories at home from any Internet device? Or could they be saved to a disc or other format for sharing or keeping in a portfolio ?

Also, at Paloma Creek we have been able to use a program called Doceri to remotely connect and control our desktop through our iPad and show the iPad screen that way (as long as your desktop is connect with your projector). I would suggest stopping by the Doceri booth here at TIA for a quick demo. The only catch is that you have to purchase the Doceri software for your desktop computer to connect with your iOS device. At Denton ISD we are blessed that our tech department saw enough merit in this to purchase it for us! :)

With that said, even though I still had to input grades into our district's online gradebook, iDoceo made my life so much easier as I could walk around with the app open and give grades on the spot for student performances and mini-assessments. At the end of the grading period, I could quickly organize my class rosters to fit what I needed to input. instead of flipping back and forth between different pages in my traditional gradebook. I would estimate iDoceo saved me at least an hour or more just because of that!

In my previous district, our superintendent stood up in front of our entire district staff at a convocation, held up his own iPhone, and said, "This is a powerful classroom tool! Use it!" I also have friends in other districts that still have policies that will suspend a student if they are found with a phone/iOS device turned on during the school day. It's a slow process to get everyone on board, but I'm so glad to be part of a district that encourages us and our students learn with these tools!

teachers and their accomplishments.

Our team heard some really great advice about that this summer. Do your research (you've already got a great start to that!), then pick three apps that you think you can use in your classroom. Make it your goal to learn those in and out. If it takes all year - great! Next year add three more. Or if you feel you can add another to your plate as the year progresses, go for it! Even Todd Nesloney (The Tech Ninja from http://www.the3techninjas.org/) is only focussing on three new apps for this school year.

This easiest way I have found to transfer grades in the limited time I've used iDoceo is to just have my iPad propped up next to my computer screen and manually type each grade in. When (if - haha!) I stay on top of it, it doesn't take long at all.
