2) Rich, social girls, are in clubs like student council, place high importance on social events like prom, pays attention to fashion trends, and how others view them
3) Dramatic, defensive, defiant
4) Looks down on everyone in the detention group, sees herself and people like her as superior
5) Dislikes parents, doesn't want to be like them. Thinks her parents are irresponsible, "screwed". Father provides her with a lot of things. Her parents use her as an object or tool in order to retaliate against one another.
6) Private life, the way people view her. She hides her insecurities by avoiding confrontation, and by avoiding questions if people ask her about it.
7) Respect, to be looked up to and to maintain a "perfect" image.
8) When Claire first enters the library for detention, she's completely insistent that she's not meant to be there. She sees herself as different from all the people there.
9) At the end, she realises that she isn't as different to everyone else as she thought she was. 
10) Symbolic Interactionism: People validate her role as popular girl at school when she's a part of student council. When she gets a high number of votes and gets placed in student council, it can re-validate that many people look up to her. She may also win other popularity contests such as prom queen.
Looking Glass Self: Outside of the detention group, she wears an image as confident and put-together. 6) Insecure about not being able to be "cool", high expectations set on him, bullied someone to impress his dad, hides it by being tough.
7) Wants to be his own person, want's freedom
8) The last scene where they are all sitting together Andy reveals that he is not the person he want's to be, and that he acts the way he does cause that's what his father taught him to be and so he feels like he needs to keep this status of being a tough guy.
9) They learn that everyone has their own problems and copes with it in different ways

8) Tried to fit in with the "cool kids" by smoking marijuana with them and starting conversations 
9) He learned to open up more, to be more social with people that he normally would not talk to

4) Imitates and insults the other characters, exploits Claire's insecurities, calls them out for embodying their respective stereotypes: [calls Brian a "parent's wet-dream",  says he could be a wrestler like Andrew if he just had a "lobotomy and some tights'']
5) Disrespects the principal, fears his abusive father 
6) An outsider so he acts out, his constant need to try and bring others down shows that his own self-esteem isn't very high at all. Wildness and constant joking are kind of his escape mechanisms; ways of dealing with or minimizing the suffering he undergoes at home.
7) Aspires to not be like his father 
8) All five of them left the library to walk around the halls for fun even though they weren't supposed to. After a bit they reached a part of the hall that was blocked and they realized that they could get caught by the principal who was wandering around so they started running. However, John suddenly decided to go another way towards the gym while yelling and singing so that the rest of the group could make it back to the library safely without getting caught. Eventually, the principal made his way to the gym to find John playing basketball and so only he got in trouble. This scene revealed a selfless part of him because he sacrificed himself for his peers.
9) John learns he is not the only one with abusive parents as he must've assumed Andy and him had completely opposite lives. By that, bonds over mutual hatred for their fathers. Also, learns Claire has her own problems despite the "perfect" image she imposes.

10) Symbolic interaction-ism: 
- John is self aware of his delinquent role to fit in into a group at school
- He knows that others view him as a bad person so he accepts that as who he's supposed to be (Andrew not believing that his father abuses him, the principal threatening John and telling him that no one would believe that he did, etc.

Looking-glass self: 
- Negative interactions with other “cliques” at school and with adults (abusive father, teachers). Thus, he falls into the “criminal / bad boy / bully” clique, isolating himself from everyone except for his group of friends.
- Around peers, John is more tough and attitude driven; buys into all the stereotypes about himself
-  Takes on a "submissive" role around adults such as his abusive father and strict principal (Vernon sees him as a total punk)

5) "home life is unsatisfying", parents ignore her, she wants to run away
6) feels unaccepted/neglected - hides it by acting like she doesn't care, physical appearance - dark, baggy clothes to advert attention for her, her life isn"t exciting or interesting so she lies to other people to make it seem more interesting
7) wants to feel accepted and acknowledged, wants to be independent-separate from her parents
8) Allison lies about being a nymphomaniac, wants to make herself seem more interesting, and wants attention
9) Allison learns that she could be accepted as well as not everyone is against her
10) People validate her role as an outcast by treating her like an outcast. For example ignoring her, encouraging her weird behavior. She acts like an outcast by wearing wearing baggy clothes, and pushes people away.
