         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. I thought that the British perception of India was based in a very condescending sort of way, I don't want to say God complex because of the fact they believed they were also subject to god, although it is a similar train of thought. their role however was I think overall harmful and beneficial, because of how bad it was, but how India turned back to itself.<br>This is not to say India would have been worse off without the British, just how they were used by the British to make money for the country possible expedited the process of modernization.<br>2. I think that the methods the British used to control and maintain their control over India were effective. I don't think it was right, but what I want to know is if the British frame of mind lead to them over indulging in their exploits. How far was too far for the Indian people?</div>]]></description>

The British did have a major impact on India and its development and culture, whether it is good or bad, I don't think we necessarily know yet.<br>2. This created tension between the groups and led to different Indian groups uniting to form the subcontinent India.<br>2. I think that trying to force the Indians to essentially become British actually led to their downfall in India because they didn't respect Indian culture and so when the Indian culture was threatened the Indians fought back.
