i think mmiw is an epidemic in Canada and the United States more than anywhere else, but there is lots of ways to bring more awareness on what's going on with violence against indigenous women, such as joining the movement and speaking out.

In my own words:  
i think there needs to be more charges laid against violence to indigenous women and not just a slap on the wrist and look the other way with the justice system.The silence in this huge issue with mmiw is swept under the rug too many times and needs to be dealt with by law enforcements, as we need more awareness to this crisis.

Europeans forced a male-controlled system of government and society (known as patriarchy) on Indigenous societies. The 1876 Indian Act disadvantaged certain Indigenous women by excluding them from band council government and enforcing discriminatory measures that took away Indian Status rights. Many Indigenous women today are leading the way in the area of healing the wounds of colonization, as they grapple with the issues of residential schools, missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, abuse and violence, and drug, alcohol and other addictions. i think abuse and violence,drug and alcohol addiction is major problem for all races as of today.
For me i do have a personal issue with MMIW ,as a child around 7 years old me and my little brother and cousin were almost adducted by white male driving a car because he was offering my young cousin and brother candy,he tried pulling them in but i pulled them out.
