Depending on fluid levels, the kidneys will either speed up or slow down the pace at which they're filtering. If the body needs more fluids, the kidneys use more fluids and urination won't be as frequent. If the body has too many fluids, the filtration will increase and urination will become more frequent. The levels are maintained so that there is enough fluid for cell function.

Kidney Stones are a solid buildup of minerals that are found in the urine. However, the stone is sometimes able to pass through. If the stone is large enough, it can cause urine blockage and damage. The stone can also cause scarring if it is particularly rough. Drinking large amounts of water can help flush out small stones. If they are larger, they might require extensive treatment like surgery or sound waves to break the stones (ESWL)

Kidney Disease occurs when the kidneys become damaged and are unable to filter out waste like they should. This then causes a buildup of waste in the kidneys which can lead to further complications. It can be treated with medication if detected early enough. However, if not, it can lead to kidney failure and dialysis, which filters the blood in the pace of the kidneys.
