Get to Know You Slide Reflection

One day, I got a project named the Get to Know You Slide. At first, I was fairly excited about it. It had seemed easy at first glance, but I didn’t know what challenges were going to be hurled at me once I started. At first, everything was going smooth, the diamante poem was simple, but a little bit challenging as I started to finish it, then I arranged the images, got two quotes to make a dual-quote slide, and changed the font. But then, the Screencastify video came. It was really challenging just to find a good place to record. Everywhere, someone else was recording a Screencastify video, no matter if it was outside, or in the classroom. Then, it was time to record the video. It was hard to make a good video, with good answers to certain questions. It was chaos. There was no good lighting, and Screencastify wasn’t exactly the best recording program. Finally, I gave in, made my final video, completed the last few steps I needed to do, then I was finally free, or so I thought. day, I got a project named the Get to Know You Slide.
Best Day of the Summer Writing Reflection

One day, I had to do a project called the Best Day over the Summer narrative writing. I was quite confident about how I was going to do. Actually, that’s a lie. I was a bit insecure about my writing skills, and still am to this day. I chose to write about my trip to Universal Studios. I tried to remember everything I could about that wonderfully fun day. At first, I wanted to write about the, as I recall, nine, or more, rides I rode on. But later on, I realized that I should write about the most thrilling rides I rode on, thanks to Mr. Chuang’s teaching. Speaking of Mr. Chuang’s teaching, he taught me about the five PIQs. He also taught us these aspects of writing that could make a huge impact on your writing, or not. He even named them, for example, the evil red eye, the poopy brown brain, and so on. So, back to my writing experience! So, I wrote about my adventures on the Harry Potter simulator ride, the Jurassic Park ride, and how scared I was, and the After-Effects show. I wasn't too confident, but I had done it, and already turned it in.

Sing of the Beaver Response to Literature Reflection

One wonderful and sunny day, I was assigned, with the rest of the class, to write about a chapter in the book Sign of the Beaver. In that chapter, two young boys are reading a book, but one of them gets mad at a passage in it, because it was discriminating against his race. I had a pretty okay time writing about that chapter. I learned that to be able to write a good narrative writing, I shouldn’t repeat anything, and if I use dialogue in my writing, to explain it. This was a fairly good learning experience.

Mystery Box Reflection

One lovely day, I was assigned to do a project called the mystery box slides. We had already been divided into groups of four. Each group received a box, and was told specifically not to open it. Everyone tilted their boxes around, and tried to find out what obstruction was in the box. We recorded our findings in our notebooks, and drew a model of what we thought was in the box. We then made a slide about it, and put our findings onto it. Then we recorded a video to answer some questions it had on the instructions slide. Finally, we deleted the instructions slide, and any blank slides that were not needed.

Native American Padlet Reflection

One fateful day, I was assigned to do a Padlet about native american tribes. I was put into a group doing a Padlet about Native Americans in the central valley. Although I couldn’t do much, I tried to help, but couldn’t find anything to do. I learned that there wasn't much to do on a Padlet when others are already so far in. I learned that I feel okay when others are doing a project, and I can’t do much. I know it’s okay, because they weren't expecting me in their group, and time was precious, and when you join in a day, give or take, later, the others have done so much in such a short time. Just because of that, I learned that the others can do so much more than I expected. I guess it goes to show, that I doubted their ability to do good in school, based off their regular behavior. I guess I've learned a lot about people, like me, and the people in my group.
