They are trying to:

- Provide basic needs like food, water and shelter for children who live in poverty (Goal 1 - End Poverty)
- Provide food for children and prevent malnutrition 
(Goal 2 - Zero Hunger)
- Provide and strengthen healthcare systems across the globe. Health & Nutrition is a huge project UNICEF is working on. (Goal 3 - Good Health & Well-Being)
- Provide education for children in 147 countries while being inclusive to all children. UNICEF also has programs promoting education for boys and girls. (Goal 4 - Quality Education)
- Reduce inequalities and stereotypes between girls & boys (Goal 5 - Gender Inequality)
- UNICEF's WASH program (Goal 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation)
- Use sustainable and renewable energy with their partners to protect and keep children safe. (Goal 7 - Affordable & Clean Energy)
- Work with Generation Unlimited, one of UNICEF's many partners, to reduce Child Labour. (Goal 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth)
- UNICEF's Innovation Fund investing in improving innovation & infrastructure. (Goal 9 - Industry, Innovation, & Infrastructure)

UNICEF's Innovation Fund is a project which focuses on improving innovation, infrastructure and industry to make a better future for children. Using the Innovation Fund, they invest in virtual and technology development. The Innovation Fund is trying to find solutions to widespread world problems. - UNICEF has many partners who are actively helping them respond to; "285 humanitarian emergencies in 90 countries; support birth in health facilities for 27 million babies; provide three doses of the Pentavalent vaccine for an estimated 65.5 million children; support the education of 12 million children; and help treat 4 million children with severe acute malnutrition" as of 2018.
