Daphne Ramos

So far, I've only received the sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist. I honestly don't remember my baptism very well since I was still a baby but I know that it was in a church in Bulacan because that was where I was born. I receive the sacrament of the Eucharist every Sunday through Holy Communion, my first Communion was in grade 3 In ICA.

"As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him, I am well pleased.” I like this bible passage because It's very simple yet it shows so many values. Obedience and righteousness are things that can be seen here, Jesus' obedience to God in doing whatever he asks is something we should follow, and how if we trust him and just follow whatever he wants us to do, everything will work out.

ME AS A CHRISTIAN:

I believe that the 21st century has brought about a lot of problems and tragic events for everyone. The pandemic can be an example and being a Christian during these difficult times helps us stay hopeful that things will get better and we are able to remember that there is God, the higher being, who will always take care of us. I believe that our faith is something that is very relevant especially in these times because it provides us a sense of affirmation and guidance.

I believe that I can express my faith through my lifestyle by incorporating small but consistent acts in my daily life. Learning how to pray the rosary as often as I can and making it a habit to attend mass every Sunday are examples of these. I believe that living out the Gospel in terms of doing good acts even when no one is looking is also an example I can do that would help shape me into a better Christian through expressing my faith in everyday scenarios.

I believe that I can nourish my relationship with Christ by being honest and humble towards him and the people around me. Honesty in my faith is very important because I'm able to open up completely to God and accept that I cannot do everything alone, somehow like surrendering myself to him and being humble enough to admit that I need The Lord's help. This can also be applied to the people around me because God is present in everyone around us, so it's important to also practice these virtues with whoever you are.

SHARING THE MISSION

I believe that I can concretely share the mission of Christ with my family by initiating more religious activities such as praying the Rosary and reading bible passages together alongside being more present when eating meals or even just spending time together are simple ways in which I can express my simple faith to God. Family is the most basic unit of society and starting with them is the most important thing to do when sharing your mission of Christ.

I believe that I can concretely share the mission of Christ with my peers by forgiving them if they've done something wrong to me. Forgiveness is one of the most important and most spoken about values they talk about in the bible, so following and living out that mission by not counting how many times someone hurts you, but to just keep forgiving is something we should all learn to practice.

I believe that I can concretely share my mission of Christ with society by setting an example for others. I can show that you don't have to do such big things for your faith to be considered a Christian, doing small acts are enough as long as they truly come from the heart.
