In general, would your family be classified as formal or informal?

I would say that they are informal. My parents are divorced, which I would say is more on the informal side. We also don't always met up on holidays or talk to each other. I don't know hardly any family members on my dad's side. My mom's side I know my family well.

What was the attitude toward the elderly?

We always were taught that you respect your elders. They have more experience in life and that makes them more knowledgable. Also they are fragile so you have to be careful, kind and considerate to them. You being young need to help out the elderly anytime they ask you too. Or even if they don't ask.

Was conflict dealt with in a direct or indirect manner?

It was always in a direct manner. If we got angry and yelled at my parents they would instantly put me in my place. They would first tell me to be respectful, and tell me that I am not to do that again. Or if I left a mess, they would yell at me to go clean it up immediately

For the most part we were rewarded with some sort of item we wanted ever so often. I would say that I was pretty good at convincing my parents to buy me a lot of goods. I always have loved getting clothes, and lots of them. So that was my main reward was getting presents or money to get more clothes.
